Canto Deo: A Denver Community Choir
Our Mission: To sing sacred choral music, share its message, inspire audiences and enrich our lives.
Canto Deo is dedicated to excellence in performance and carrying on our Christian cultural heritage by exploring choral literature from diverse historical periods and styles. As part of our contribution to our heritage, Canto Deo also supports the creation of new sacred choral works and serves as a community based resource for sacred music.
The mission of the Chamber Music Society of Greater Denver is to use the power of music to achieve durable learning and cultural awareness. Our goals are to raise awareness and appreciation of chamber music as an art form and to enhance musical education opportunities for K-12 students and the community. The Chamber Music Society of Greater Denver is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Your donation is fully tax-deductible.
The Chorale was founded in Arapahoe County in 1980 by former students and parents of the Cherry Creek school system to allow committed singers to continue performing and to provide the community with the joy of fine music, beautifully sung. We became a 501(c)(3) organization in 1986. We have had three Artistic Directors in our 36 years, including the current Artistic Director & Conductor, Brian Patrick Leatherman, now in his 21st season.
Today we have 135 members. Our repertoire ranges across the whole choral spectrum, including religious and secular classics, modern works, popular music, spirituals, jazz, and regional and folk favorites. We regularly commission new works and new arrangements of already-published works.
We rehearse and sing most of our regular-season concerts (four concerts/two performances each), at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village, Arapahoe County, Colorado. We also sing elsewhere in Arapahoe County and in other SCFD counties, as well as at other Colorado, US, and overseas venues.
We collaborate regularly with other choirs (adults’ and children’s), and with musical groups and individuals as diverse as symphony orchestras, Celtic and Bluegrass ensembles, local singer/songwriters, instrumental soloists, jazz ensembles, and bell ringers.
The CherryTones, a sixteen-member a cappella vocal ensemble established in 2012-13 by our Outreach Committee and drawn from our chorale members, adds variety to our regular concerts and sings on its own in new venues, with a pop/rock/jazz repertoire designed to attract new listeners.
The Cherry Creek Chorale does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our staff, volunteers, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and patrons.

Making Music for Fifty Years
Formed in 1970, the Colorado Chorale is known for excellence in choral technique, creative musical collaborations and a dedication to ensuring that a love and knowledge of music is passed on to future generations.
The Chorale’s auditioned singers represent a variety of backgrounds — teachers, business people, retirees, realtors, lawyers, and entrepreneurs. The Chorale presents four major concerts a year– large choral works with orchestra as well as pieces by local composers that we premier and themed concerts. Encore, our small ensemble, brings holiday music to area events.
Our Music for Life program exposes children and youth to choral singing in a way that will influence them for life.
The Chorale is under the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Kevin T. Padworski.
The Colorado Chorale is dedicated to its long-standing policy of non-discrimination.
About Us

COLORADO CRAFTED
The Denver Brass 2024-25 Season is Colorado Crafted just for you! We open our season alongside organist Joseph Galema for an indulgent musical feast, Pipes & Horns of Plenty. Then, we'll be Home for Christmas with Dave Hanson's swinging arrangement of Tchaikovsky’s classic Nutcracker. For Mardi Gras season we’re bringing back legendary partyers Festa Bateria to help us get the good times rolling at Fat Tuesday Festa. Tenor Todd Teske, along with bagpipes, drums and championship dancer, will perform the ancient ritual of Celtic Awakening. The sound of a thousand voices echoing through time will fill cathedrals with St. Martin's Chamber Choir at Echoes in Time, and we end our season with Sketches of Courage: Sean Hennessy's newest composition inspired by the sketches of his grandfather, Frank Hennessy, who bravely served in World War II as a battlefield historian. This season is crafted right here in Colorado, and features the best composers and musicians this side of the Mississippi. We love our home and our fans here in Colorado, and there’s nothing more Colorado than a craft beer, a black diamond run and your Denver Brass!

WELCOME!
Welcome to our 31st Season, a sonorous cornucopia of choral delights! From the thrilling sound of the 60+ Festival Singers to collaborations with the Denver Brass and English organist Simon Jacobs, this season is a feast for ears and hearts. We mark two anniversaries along the way – the 500th of Renaissance giant Palestrina, and the 100th of Anglo-Irish composer Charles V. Stanford, a favorite of choral aficionados everywhere. In addition, we reprise the haunting and evocative Dickens A Christmas Carol, a monumental new choral work with arrangements of carols by American composer Benedict Sheehan, all accompanying a narration of the heartwarming tale of Scrooge, Tiny Tim, and a procession of temporal ghosts. Add to that another concert in the grand atrium of the Brown Palace Hotel, with cocktail service, and there is nothing in this season that you could possibly forego. Purchase your season tickets now, and I look forward to seeing you at every concert!
